Brian Schilling: Day 2

Day 2 of training, I am on my own. I show up at TPF around 6:30am, and I loosen up a bit. I had to stretch out my sore muscles from the previous day, as the plan was to get on the bike and do 50 minutes of Cardio – 10 minutes of warmup, 30 minutes of cardio at my target heart rate of 150-160 beats per minute (BPM), and then 10 minutes to cool down and stretch again.

Well, it was grueling – I have never rode a bike that long in my life. I kept watching the timer, trying to watch ESPN to take my mind off the ride, just waiting to reach the target time.

18 miles later, I achieved my goal – I was pretty surprised I rode that much! I certainly felt in my gluteus muscles…..more from sitting on the hard seat than anything else! :)

Tomorrow, it’s time to begin the real training Shaun has in store for me….can’t wait to get fit! :)
